Where: East Lake Park, Airdrie Date: Dec 19 Time: 1:00-5:00 Age min: 12 About: We are holing a Mini event! These are why we call practices... well, practices. There practices for the events! About: Local events are more lade back than regional events, as a result Arderyth Christmas Event age limits are more lax (min age 12). However, we will still aim to make it a Belegarth party! We are planing to include team tournaments, dueling tournaments, all out large scale battles, and hours of fighting. Date: Dec 19 Times: 1-5pm We plan to hang out in full garb at a local restaurant across the street afterwards. Location: East Lake Park Airdrie Age Minimum: 12 years of age. Non-combatants can be any age Waiver: In order to participate in the combat you must sign an Arderyth waiver. Players under 18 years of age must have a signed waiver by a parent or guardian. Minimum Garb Requirements: Basic uniform is requested, but we know it is winter so warmth first. If you can not come up with anything, we will have some garb to loan on a first come first serve basis. Well, seems a location is the next essential step, any one want to place a bid? (or just throw out ideas?)Hmm well im not sure bout airdrie because we get the festival of lights and there wont be any place to play in with everything up there. Right. East Lake is an option in Airdrie, Big Hill Springs, or that rest stop in QE2...

2 ideal locations are running through my head right now, not necessarily what we will chose, but if the world were perfect these are the local locations I would chose from. Which is more appealing? Dickson Stevenson - Highway 2 Rest stopor Big Hill Springs Provincial ParkDickson Stevenson: Pros:Indoor flush washrooms (I am pretty sure) Closer to Airdrie (15 min) field surrounded by trees Cons:Less amazing location than Big Hill Springs Big Hill Springs: Pros:Outhouse (as opposed to nothing) Amazing location (scenery, no houses, no cars, remote...) Cons:Outhouse The biggest con for both is no fire pits at ether, I was really hopping to have fire. Thoughts?

Well Technically, you can start a fire anywhere, lol ;D. But yeah those are good ideas.

I'd like a location that people are likely to wander by so we can use the event for advertising if posible.

Hmm... maybe east lake would be good to try, the reck center is right there for washrooms and such. We could head across the street to Timys after... I wonder if they have fire pits there?

YEs, east lake as a fire pit according to the City: www.airdrie.ca/parks/fire_pits.cfm I wonder if I need to contact the city to get access to it? Edit: Bah! www.airdrie.ca/parks/bookings.cfm When they say "free" they don't mean it. Airdrie is addicted to liability insurance that hardly any group in Airdrie can afford (its not just us)!

that is really dumb, stupid catches. Just like those stupid ads on TV that say free, PLUS extra shiping and handling.

Ya, it is one of the reasons we can't get an indoor place to practice in winter is the liability insurance is os high it is almost more than the rental. Quite frustrating.
Well, like I said before, there are restaurants across the way as well. Timys, Wendy's, Extreme Pieta, and what ever is in the reck center (when does the new part open up?).

I think East lake sounds bast for this even them ore I think of it. Fight on a field by the reck center for easy access to warmth and washrooms and things. Then head to a restraint after in garb and hang out.

We would go to Star-Bucks after Monday practices in full garb sometimes, lots of fun. You have good conversations with the people behind the counter and get lots of funny looks from people. Sometimes people even want a picture.
