I told the old Red Deer leader to direct his members to look at this thread and the facebook event David setup.
He said there doesn't appear to be any leadership in Red Deer since he left though, so maybe that group collapsed? I hope not, but we might get some of them... maybe.

Huh, that's weird. It shows up on the forum and it shows up on the Airdrie site but it doesn't show up there. I don't know whats going on but you might as well post the information.

maybe you have the wrong rss feed? That page is based off the blogger entry "Alberta Belegarth News"
I've posted it now, (and corrected a typo in the realm name it's Arderyth not Airderyth)

Grr. I might be tight on friday so I might have to leave early or come late. I might have babysitting and I might have to prebowl. Arg. I hope I can come for at least the majority of the time.

I'm here with an update! I have two friends who can make it to the event so far. Some other friends will be at my house in the afternoon before the event so I'm hoping once I ask in person and show them a video they'll be more interested. What's the weapon situation compared to the confirmed number of people? I'll have two swords plus hopefully I can finish my shield, I only have two more edge layers to go plus a cover. I did the foam according to the Geddon.org tutorial: www.geddon.org/index.php/Constructing_a_Strap_Shield Three layers on the front and four layers on the edges.

I've got 7 swords now including one of David's. I'll be showing up around 6pm though. I was expecting to give you back your sword this last Sunday but you didn't show up...

So I think we should plan to save the biggest games for after 6:00 because we'll have the most weapons and people. I was thinking I could come pick up your weapons since I have some things to do in Calgary but I'll only be at the event an hour earlier than you so it's probably not worth it. I'm sure we'll have enough to do until you get there like getting my friends used to the game.
So on me right now I have one sword and an almost complete shield and we will be arriving at around 5:00pm.
Do we have any sort of game schedule for the event? Plan on an "intro to Belegarth" when my friends get there. So maybe some practice sparring for a few minutes.

We are going to be winging it as far as games go it's just that we will be able to get more in. One thing I do plan on is a noob duel tournament. We will probably wait for you and your friends to come and then we will do that. I'm sorry to David but you are a bit to experienced for what I'm thinking. It should be people who have just been introduced to the game that should be given a chance to prove their mettle.

I take that as a compliment Something came up so I'm down to one friend coming for sure. But I'll see if I can get another one to come last minute.

Very well, we had 4 shields on the field at once!
When I showed up I was dual wielding a red sword and one of my long blues... people were teaming up 4 on 1 against me.... and I was winning *GLEE*
If your arms can hold up dual wielding red swords is AWESOME! you can break shields, or go around them and your range is incredible in open battles. It didn't work too well when we did red rover though, the field is too small.
We also did some zombie games that I think went over well.
As for the rest of the event I wasn't there for the whole thing but we seemed to have a largish group and everyone was having fun.

The first part of the event went quite. It was mostly spent in building swords. Four people got one made!
