I totally want to go to Chaos Wars. If there was a way to have more than one driver to switch between that would be optimal. Unless someone has no problem driving 14 hours straight. Insurance wise usually only drivers 25 and older can borrow your car. Perhaps special arrangements can be made though. I'd have to look into it. So who else is interested in going to Chaos Wars? Once we know who's interested we can see if this will work out. Oregon is sooo close too

Don't you both have cars? If you want to rent, check around, I thought some places it was 21 years to be driver...

Yes I have a car but it doesn't make sense to go alone. Once I know who's interested we can figure out vehicle and other logistics. Brian can you drive stick shift? You need a passport to go to the U.S now right? I have mine so I'm good.
Hey I just thought of something. We could stock up on cheap blue foam while we're down there. We could save like $10 on each roll.

I drive stick so that's not an issue, but I do need to get a passport.

Most events (in-fact all I know of) are 16+ for fighting. Younger you can still attend, just not fight on the field. I hear you could even talk vets in to sparing with you off the field much of the time.
Some of our local events have been 14+

Chaos Wars Forum will all the info: board.belegarth.com/viewforum.php?f=38There is a good discount for reregistering. You might be able to reregister up to the week of the event, but you need to check that. I believe that it is tenting only, though, there are hotels close by I believe. For food, there is one free meal included (feast), the rest you need to provide for yourself. However, there is someone selling food on site if you let them know ahead of time you wont have to worry about it at all: board.belegarth.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=35182I wish I could go...

So the actual event isn't much but I'm referring to the cost of the trip. Probably a few hundred dollars including gas, food, lodging etc.?

Only lodging would be getting there and back it is two days down, you might be able to do one day down though (maybe switching of on drivers). After a week of fighting one day up might hurt.

Well registration is $25 US, food is $40 US for the week + meals on the trip. According to Google maps the trip is 13 and a half hours so that's a day each way. Lodging is a tent so if you have one of those it's free, (I don't but they usually fit more than one person.) It's just over 1000 km one way so that's probably about $150 CAN in gas divided by however many people we have going.
So if just the 2 of us went I'd guess about $175 CAN each That's really cheap for a week long trip unless I'm missing something huge. And it would be even cheaper if we can convince others to come.

Should cost out how much it would cost to drive VS fly. Sometimes when the distance if far enough, it is actually not that much different.
