how long is the festival on for?
Does it take up the entire park or just the area we normally use? could we fight in the further field near the totem poles?
Meh, what do I care I have to "work" that day... stupid paying bills and needing money.

Practice should work fine, we have done it in the past. I will try and show up on time so I can talk to security. Last year I just "checked in" and let them know what was up. Asked if there was better field than another.
If things go sour we will head across the street, but I highly doubt that will happen.

The festival will run all of Dec. last year we only had a few practices because of the crazy cooled snap. They set up the lights different every year so we will have to play it by ear. Take the audited that is is our park, and we want to take good care of it and respect the festival, and they will appreciate it.

To day (Dec 4th) is looking iffy. The Temp is technically OK, but I am wondering about wind chill... Thoughts?

Dec 11 practice canceled! Sorry guys, it is just not looking good. I remember the days when snow was a rare site, and temperatures were rarely below -2 for christmas... Global warming indeed.

Dang let's hope that next week or during the event we can get good weather. Kinda glad that im not missing out though, had a band thing to do tomorrow after school and wouldn't have made practice any ways.

Maybe it would be a good idea just to cancel practices for a few months during the winter. It would save you a lot of hassle and weapon wear and tear. If you wanted to have an event maybe an indoor location would do(like the church we were in last year), but then there's pressure to have a certain number of people show up to pay for it.

And finding un-rented space is trick (and a place that doesn't ask for 2mil+ liability insurance). The trouble with alberta (as you know I am sure) is the weather is unpredictable. We traditionally get more reliable practices in during the cold snowy months than we do during the summer. Of corse it depends on the weather, the last 3-4 years have has cold snaps (like we are in now) right before christmas, then clear up after Jan. Wile for the 3-4 years before that Dec hardly saw any real cooled. (I check the historical weather record).
If the weather doesn't improve for the event, we my look at re-scheduling it.
