Yes, spear and florentine often do this. Specifically so they have some arrow protection.

i plan on fighting javelin and shield once i get a core for it.

i plan on fighting javelin and shield once i get a core for it. Then make sure it's not too big/heavy otherwise you lose your mobility and then there's no point. Forkbeard is a big guy so he can do things that we mere mortals can't.

lol truth.
Fighting Spartan is not very effective on the Belegarth field, but I think there is a lot of room for skirmishers that hasn't been explored. A big foam core less shield might make a lot of scenic here. Run around huking javs. Worked quite well for me at the first Battle for Strathclyde, I would liek to try it again sometime.

tommorow i am spending all day finishing some of my friends weapons and covering them. should have an additional shield, 2 blues and a staff. . . . i find that staves do not work very well.

staffs are not very effective, especially when a new person is using it. get a sword to start off with. its way easier to learn.
