I'm planning on making 10 tabards with the Calligary logo on them. Half white background, half black background. To save materials I'm planning on making half of them with a blue shield and yellow rays, and half with a yellow shield with blue rays. I'll sew the white stars on using black thread to make them show up a bit better. The rest of the pattern will be attached using iron-on-glue. I'm thinking of using these 2 patterns: the other possible patterns I don't think I'll use were:

Does this make sense? Is there any specific symbolism to the colour scheme?

Once I get this done... say 2020 or so? we should have more of a professional look like sports teams with home and away jerseys.

Actually, the colours, shapes, arrangement are all symbolic:
- The stars are part the constellation Cygnus otherwise know as the northern cross, to represent the "Empire of the North", and there are seven stars because this is the empire's seventh legion (the last remaining). - The Sword is a claymore, representing the strength and legions of the old empire, along with a hint to its Celtic culture, and is additional reminiscent of Red Deer's red compass symbol, or vice versa. It is blue in symbolism of the ever reaching sky that covers the empire. - The shield is yet another old imperial symbol that was once a sunburst that symbolized light in the darkness of the north, along with reason, warmth, and enlightenment. It is now changed to a setting sun on a dark blue background to show the twilight of the of the empire. - The black background is the darkness of the north, the chaos and oblivion that returned after the empire's collapse.
So, follow the first rule of heraldry: never change anything. Also this was intended as a rough concept but Cib seems to have gone and used it anyway. I'll draw up a finished prof before the end of the month.

oh, great.... that almost doubles the cost of materials and I already bought a bunch of white cloth and black bias tape for the edging.
It also sort of kills the idea of having 2 teams divided by half wearing each set of tabards...
