There are actually about ten of us, the rest just haven't showed up yet... None of us have fought in Belegarth before, but several people (including Herb) have participated in similar events.
As to how I found you guys, it involved grinding through search engines for a while. We settled on Belegarth because, well, you guys were nearby and we figured we could mooch off the more experienced folk for advice on getting things rolling.
As this is typed, I've got a few people making basic weapons and made use of the graphics found (thank you Cib) to piece together some posters to advertise locally. Most of the people interested are those we know directly. Word of mouth seems to be the best method to get people involved.
And before anyone points to the handy New Realm Starter Kit download, the link is either broken or just hates me. Pointers are welcome as to what to get to next to get this started in Red Deer asap.
Nice to meet a couple of you!

Good to know the link for the NRSK is a problem... hmm.. File front must have changed something. OY. Looks look it got deleted. File front had a weird transfer of ownership the other month, maybe it got deleted in there... Anyway, here is a new link: files.filefront.com/13755632 I will have to fix the web site link ASAP as well 10 of you eh? That is a good starting number! More than most start with! Have you decided on a practice location and time yet? I am not aware of what parks are in Red Dear, but choose the most popular high traffic one you can.

The high traffic ones are a little cluttered, unfortunately, but there's a lot of room a few blocks away for us to get started at. Once we get a little more organized, we'll start moving practices into more public locations. That way we avoid both embarrassment, and the risk of people getting upset.
Red Deer fears change.
Thanks for the link. I'll take a look asap.

I hereby Necro this thread, because I found it, and wanted to post (Epic.)
Name's Z (don't ask..or do..it's just a long story) my style is Sword and Board with a secondary of Glaive and I have been fighting for 5 years. Also: I love Belegarth, I breathe it.

Hello there Bel brothers. My name is G-fish from the Kingdom of the Rising Winds of Amtgardia in the US. I'll be moving to Calgary in less then a month and starting an Amtgard park. I'll come and visit at your park to meet some of you and hopefully we can do some cross gaming. The Belt Line I am in in Amtgard has a Bel fighter at its head Named Wisp Nemoralis. They are having a somewhat cross gamed event near St. Louis, MO in October called Knoblander 10. Hope to see you guys when I move there. What is the calgary parks meeting times and place? And as to weapon choice, Single Short for me

Welcome to the boards G-fish! I may have heard of Wisp (though there may be more than one). Looking forward to learning some things from you (amt fighters are typically very fast so I have heard!)! How can we help you out?
And just for clarification, a "park" is the same a a shire/chapter/realm yes?

Yep when I say park it refers to the chapter of amtgard. In this case it will be a Shire Im thinking something along the lines of"Shire of the Borean Valley" or something with cold Hes the only Wisp Nemoralis member of Sol Invictus in amtgard. Great guy The realm that the park would be under is a freehold unless a kingdom sponsors the park And what I could use from you guys is some open minded people willing to learn a new game and help me find other to join. Usually amtgard parks meet mainly either saturday or sunday and then during the week for a small fighter practice. And yes we are fast, I may weigh 230 pounds but im quick think of it like tag, its lighter hits with different style and magic used in class battles its quite fun!

Eien is japanese for Eternity as for how to say it : *A* like the letter and then a *yen* is the best i can explain it. You kinda have to know the japanese vowel sounds.
