So after our little practice, a few comments from Mog, and a discussion with randver about garb I decided to make a VERY quick sketch of one the designs I hope to make:

Wow! Very barbaric and cold weather looking! Good sketch, if ti comes out like that, it will be awesome.
One thing to think about as you work on this design is to work layers in to it, so you can wear it year round. This scetch looks fantastic for cooled weather!

Yeah, I had that in mind; you can't see it but I would have a short and/or long sleeve tunic on under the armour, the wolf pelt can be worn alone, and the trousers are made from light material so it would just be a matter of NOT wearing long johns underneath. Overall versatility is inherent in the design as I'm going with the idea that most of the pieces have been salvaged or stolen. I'm also trying to come up with some added trinkets and my see about adding bull horns to the helmet.

Some people have horns that can be removed from their helm for combat, for safety and because horns are expensive and fragile. Tandy has lots of cool horns you can buy. For horns you can wear in combat: geddon.org/index.php/Horns_for_the_Helm

The horns I was intending to make would be combat safe ones, so thanks for the link, but would also be removable as I was think of using very strong magnets to attach them.

Hey, that is a pretty sweet design. I looks much the same as the vikings.
