So just a curiosity, are there any good forested areas in Airdrie? I was just thinking of how fun and more fantasy it would be if you did some practices in a forested area. I know in Cochrane the Ranche would be an easy choice for a practice. It would be a whole new game when you do Belegarth in the trees. You'd have way more obstacles and that kind of thing to use to your advantage...or disadvantage, hehe. Maybe a field trip to Big Hill Springs. That place is super cool.

How about a field trip to my place? I live on a farm you know and it has allot of woods.

We really do need to have some fighting at your farm some time.
Unfortunately Airdrie is pretty treeless. We should move down the "hill" to the "grove" of trees (8?), it is a bigger practice aria and has better shade.

The Calgary practice we just did we had a bunch of trees at the bottom of the hill, we did 2 games in the forest, kill the killer and royal escape. It seemed to work ok, gave us a bit of hiding and strategy. Didn't change it too much though.
One problem with forest fighting is less people see you, so less chance of new joiners.

Less public presence yes which is why you might not want to do it every single time but once in a while to change things up. Out of curiosity how many people have you had ask about what you're doing during a practice? On Monday I heard some kids biking by saying "oh that's that Belegarth thing" I thought it was funny. At least they know who you are.

Very few people ask us anything. Although we do get a lot of strange looks.
In Airdrie apparently Belegarth has gotten media coverage so people know about it. In Calgary that hasn't happened yet. Hopefully we can get regular enough practices going to get coverage though.

We got 2 people approaching us on Thursday though. The first picked up a twig and tried to join in. I told him to grab one of the weapons we had piled up and he ran off, (I think he was trying to make fun of us *shrug*)
The second got my contact info and should be coming to the weapons building session tonight.

Say where is the park in crossfield? Is it just behind the arena and community hall?

The park being referred to is on the north edge of the town.

It is kinda in an L shape. On the highway side there is sports failds and such, on the corner of the L there is a memorial park and thin on the north west side a hill and a small woods.
