We came up with a new game today, but aren't sure what to call it.
20% of the players are scapegoats elite/plagued/knights/lepers/unclean/"it". We are still trying to decide what to call them as you want to repeatedly become one but don't want to stay one long.
When one of the scapegoats kills someone, the victim backs away from everyone else 3 paces and calls "1, 2, 3, scapegoat" and becomes one of the scapegoats, the person who got the kill is no longer a scapegoat at that time, and no points are awarded on ether side.
If someone kills a scapegoat they become a scapegoat and gain a point. The victim in this case stands up, counts "1, 2, 3, alive", while the killer backs away 3 paces from all non-scapegoats and announces "scapegoat"
In this way each person needs to keep track of their own score at all times, but no 30 second timer like mutant requires. You want to kill the scapegoats to gain a point, and as scapegoats you don't want to die as that would give someone else a point; however, you don't want to stay a scapegoat for long as that reduces your chance of gaining more points.
Becoming a scapegoat regenerates all lost limbs. Dieing and respawning also regenerates all lost limbs. Killing someone as a scapegoat does NOT regenerate lost limbs.

I'm leaning towards "plauge" for a game name and "plagued" for the name of the elite. the story behind this would be you want to purge the plagued people from your area, but if you kill one their blood gets on you infecting you. Any other thoughts on this?

I'm now thinking scapegoat might be a better name for this. Plague makes you think more people will be infected over time and that's not the case.
You always want to attack a scapegoat, (although it's normally with words) and as a scapegoat you are always looking for someone else to shift the attacks towards by attacking them.

Ya that might work.
...Or "hoops" referring to how one has to jump through hoops to gain points? Na that is kinda week.

Scapegoat would work but it still isn't a name that some one would it like to achieve. "I'm the scapegoat I'm the scapegoat" . . . now did you ever here someone shouting that with glee. On the other hand it can't be a name that someone wants to hold on to for very long. Therefore it should be a name like Roman Emperor. That is name people want to achieve but they also want to hand it off before they get killed.

Well you can become the scapegoat by being killed by the old one too. I introduced it at the one Calgary practice that had people showing up recently... a whole 2 people... and the name seemed to work.
I think I'm officially naming it that
