All players form up in either a circle or 2 lines. Turns go clockwise for circles or alternate between the lines, (only one person at a time has their turn.)
You may only move when it is your turn, or to react to someone attacking you on their turn, (ie you can block or dodge them.)
Your turn lasts for one action, this means a single attack, step, repositioning, or combination thereof. You can't step then attack, but you can extend your attack reach by stepping at the same time as you attack. Note this also means you can't draw back from most attacks and will end your turn with your arm extended most of the time.
If using a circle it's FFA.
If using lines it's team-based.
For example if the starting arrangement is:
Mog Draggoas Cib
David Darr Randvar
Then the order goes: Mog, David, Draggoas, Darr, Cib, Randvar

Combat proceeds sort of like an RPG game (such as final fantasy), there is time to think out what your action should be, you can talk to your teem about what the best course of action is each turn and you can clearly see the results of your actions (unlike normal combat were the speed can make thing very muddled). I would call it a "Time Stop Drill".
