Ok this is a bit of a read, but if you can please take a quick peek (you don't have to read it all, just get the idea and we can use it as reference later.) board.belegarth.com/viewtopic.php?f=128&t=29071I think having a game of some kind like this would be beneficial to Alberta Belegarta as far as keeping things fresh, promoting inter realm connections, and promoting realm unity. I think the game I liked to is a bit to complicated, we are smaller and something simpler is in order. Basically we have a map and can challenge other realms for control of territories, like an ongoing tournament. Realms can ether hold a special practice just for the occasion, invade an existing realm or challenge each other at events. What are your thoughts? (If Western Winds wanted to be a part of things as well that would be cool to. Maybe if it is on your soil, home team choses the rule set to be played by, if it is on neutral soil it switches back and forth in a best of 4 or something).

I read the whole thread. It's dated 2009 so do you know how the idea worked out?
I'm not sure we have the numbers to do something like this. You really need more realms than we currently have. I could possibly see Cochrane getting together on a monthly basis to wage war but a weekly practice is not likely unless I can find someone to help lead it. Territories might not even be the best idea for our small numbers anyway. Maybe some sort of point system would be more effective. Victory=1 point, solid victory=2, massacre=3. Victory=4/7 games won during that "attack/invasion/mini-event", solid victory=5/7 games won, massacre=6/7 games won. This would be a very simple scoring system. But in order for anything like this to work we would need at least three realms with at least four participants. Meaning Calgary and Cochrane would need to be active in order for this to work.

I read the whole thread. It's dated 2009 so do you know how the idea worked out? Didn't happen I believe. I could possibly see Cochrane getting together on a monthly basis to wage war but a weekly practice is not likely unless I can find someone to help lead it. That is actually the point, I think it offers a way to do things without a weekly practice. The system I linked is defiantly to complicated and requires far to many people that we have available. A pint system could work as well I suppose. I like the scoring system you suggested, but I also like the territories, perhaps a mixture?

I think a casual monthly or semi-annual inter-realm get together would more effective at this point. I don't think a territory game would help the growth of Belegarth right now.
