im tempted to try and fill in the gaps on the mask and turn it into a helmet, but not sure of the best way of going about it.

The way I see it, you have a couple of options: 1) Buy or make maille rings and weave together pieces that will fill in those gaps. 2) Use posterboard as a template to make leather pieces that will fill in those spaces. However, riveting around the inside of a helmet can be a bit of a challenge unless you have a good anvil. Stitching them in place might be an easier option.

Stitching them in place might be an easier option. thanks kyrian, im accually tempted to just remake the whole thing, it has a lot of places where the knife jumped when cutting it, (escpecially around the eyes) and then i still have to decide the options above
