First off, I like the flag idea; at first I thought they were going to be too simple, but then I like simplicity and after hearing about the symbolize loved the idea, it is very authentic. For the Calgary "Cartel" group I was thinking of what symbol we could use and I like what the UofC has: I bull, which is very Calgarian. So I took their logo and modified it some to seem more evil. This is still a Work-In-Progress as I need to make it original to avoid Copyright issues but you'll get the idea:

Alright, i hearby necro this thread for no reason really. I like the stories, nice stuff guys ;D Here's mine (too long, i should trim it dooown) I lived in the small village of Sundrie, which was burned to the ground and ransacked by soldiers. My father and mother were killed but I was hiding under the table. (remeber, i was 7 ) A soldier came in the house to look for survivors, and found me. I grabbed a knife off the counter and threw it at him in desperation. It peirced his throat. I gathered up a small pack of food and a few other things, also stealing the dead man’s sword. I waited until the cover of night, and started the walk to Calligery, (spelling? oh well) the only town i knew. After three (fairly uneventfull) days on the road, i arrived. In Calligary (still not sure the bel name for it ) I slept in abandoned buildings and whatnot, stealing to make a living. One day, i was walking around the marketplace there and saw an armoured knight. He looked rich, so i followed him. That night i broke in to his room in the inn where he slept and started to steal his things. He woke up, and before i knew it, he had a short sword in his hand and was rushing at me. I quickly drew my own blade, blocking his attacks the best i could in the light of the moon though the window. Soon he disarmed me with a flick of his wrist and had his blade pressed up against my throat. By that time his companions had woken and surrounded me. Wanting to keep my life, I begged him to train me. He explained his name was Cib and he was a warlord and needed some followers. He decided I could travel with them and learn from them in the way of the sword. A few years passed, and I eventually learnt all I could from them. I decided to move on, and am now a wandering mercenary. ;D edit; on second read, what a weak ending. hmm.

GAH! quoting this!! ;D ;D ;D "The world is an endless supply of "fresh Meat"!" -Cib Agreed! ;D However, some of the 'fresh meat' fights back. So, it's good to be on your guard at all times. Btw, welcome Zamisk! I haven't been to the practices lately; have you been to some?

I bored and this what i came up with for myself.
<Grew up first born, only girl in the family. Wanted to prove my worth so I began to befriend boys and show that a girl do anything they can. Then one day I ran into one of Cib's followers (Zocana), befriended him and the next thing I knew was a warrior of Arderyth. And after learning many things I was soon able to hold my own against some of the more experienced fighters.>
This all true except for the part about being the only girl. I have all the thanks to Zocana!!!

I was putting on practices downtown because a lot of people who claimed they would come were coming from the south and downtown is nice and central, (and fairly easy to get to by transit.)
If you have any suggestions for where/when to hold a practice please speak up. I've got a car and I regularly drive to the Airdrie ones so I can probably make it to yours too, and I can bring my weapons.
