In games where the teams change a lot like the red rover game I just proposed or the teams of 3 where you gather at the spawn point till you have 3 people them become a new team, etc. It is quite often hard to tell who is on what team.
It would be nice if we had tabards / scarves / something we can quickly attach to our garb to designate teams.
I know I've hit people a few times that I thought were enemies but were actually on my team.
This system could also be used for elite and mutant if we can get the marker on/off fast enough, (tuck a scrap of cloth through your belt?)

Lets brain storm ways to tell teams apart then! For right now, it doesn't matter how fast you can change teams, I am just curious how many ways we can come up with.

flippable sign attached to clothes: ether a holder with a card you flip/replace or just attached on the sides and flip the whole thing to change sides. This would look more professional but would take more work to make than a simple cloth.

cheap alternate: survey tape, (durable non-sticky plastic/cloth ribbon usually tied to something)
we can get rolls of this stuff for less than $5 at rona and shove it through waistbands/armbands/belts

In the game of Mutant I think that the mutant should not be differentiated by bands or belt flags but by weapons. The Mutant gets a certain weapon combination and when the mutant dies he hands it of to the next guy. this would help to solve two problems. The first: differentiating, the second: telling who becomes the Mutant. Another thing that I would like to point out about a fixed weapon system is that every person who becomes the mutant has equal advantage, at least as far as weapons are concerned.

The only problem with that Darr is what weapons? Different people prefer different combos so if your combo is picked you'll have an advantage over everyone else as mutant.
Unless we severely restrict weapons to say: single blue for everyone and the mutant gets a shield too or something?
Mutant is the one game I generally don't have a problem with telling who is on the other team, because they are counting out loud. Elite on the other hand is a nightmare.

That is a good point. I have an idea of doing mutant that maybe would not solve that problem but would perhaps make the problem not matter. I will explain more in the Mutant Thread.

Something cheap and effective would be the armband but with another colour on the inside so you can just roll/flip it over in seconds. You could make these out of fabric. All it would take is two pieces of fabric sewn together. You could just tie it around your arm using a knot.

I like that idea I think it would work really well.

I think they are trying this at Chaos Wars that year actually. Would be fairly simple to wimp up.

That's a great idea you'd just need a sewing machine and you'd be set. We just need enough for everybody and any bystanders who want to try.
