Ok, so I am going to start looking for a place to practice at indoors on a week night in addition to our friday practice (yes, we are going strong throng the winter cooled), thing is we have no money, and no insurance. So, no promises.
If you have any connections with a place where we might be able to practice, please let me know. Also, if you have preference on what day would work best, and what times would work best, please voice them!
If you have any ideas, or can help in anyway please, pleas, pleas let me know!

I would love to help in any way I can. You said you didn't have any money. Well I have got a little bit of money and I would definitely contribute to any kind of rent that would have to be paid. I could probably manage a sum inbetween 500 and a 1000 dollars.
I like the big tent idea but would that not be just as expensive as anything else?

Hey cib, I forgot to mention this to you at the last practice but if you are having trouble just making phone calls for a place to rent you could let me make a few of them if thats OK with you.
EDIT: Of course you would have to let me now where to phone.

Airdrie seems to be a bit lacking in the gym and room rental dpertment, just try doing a google search on google... I have contacted the City, they gave me some numbers, but didn't know to much. I contacted the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce, but they only had lists of meeting rooms, though they did give me some help with places to put posters. Apparently, there aren't allot of those ether.... Ok, I am working on getting info from the RVSD on Airdrie school gym and room rentals. Ned said he would phone some people also, (I have sent you a PM), so hopefully we will get some leads. Anything better than east lake rec center would be good (not the quality of the gym, but the price, and I think they would need insurance), if we could survive on half a gym, it would be about 3k for 6 months, and $480 a month... which really isn't to bad from their perspective, but for us, that is to high. Anyone else willing to put up some money? PM me.

Ok the RVSD guy got back to me. Helpful guy. Bad news: We have to be primarily from RV (which right now isn't a problem) There might be an issue with our stuff... they don't let floor hockey on their floors, cuz they don't want them dented or wrecked by the plastic sticks. Week nights gyms are almost all booked (I forgot to ask about large rooms) We need 2 million dollars in liability insurance. Good news: Adult rental is $35 an hour ($5 less than the rec center's price for half a gym!) If we qualify as youth (he said he would lean toward charging youth price if he could) it is only $7 an hour. Wow cheep! Thing is even with the 2 mil insurance needed, it still might be cheeper than the rec center, as I think they need 1 mil liability insurance. So, I am going to look in to liability insurance and see how much it costs. Here is to hoping liability Insurance is cheep He had some more suggestions for places to try though, the museum (I don't think it will work, but I wonder about the big garage on the back, every time I have seen it i is pack with stuff, but maybe it isn't always that way...), he said the catholic schools (apparently under Calgary), Golden Rod hall (a bit far buy worth checking), Balzack community hall (Ned is looking in to that one I think), and the upstairs at the plainsmen arena (they are connected to the twin arenas and the rec center so I expect a mil insurance there as well...).

Ok, called on place, he said 1k a year for 2 million liability insurance. But he said that they do more trucking and big companies, and that if I shop around, I might get as low as half that.

Wow, it seems like it is hard to find insurance around here. Have you tried all the local insurance companies? I now that my family has Co-operaters , have you tried them yet?

No, the one I called was Airdrie Insurance he suggested Sunlife, Co-operaters and AMA, so I will be giving them a call.
Thing is we know now that the cheapest 2mil LI (I am going to just refer to liability insurance as LI from now one, way shorter) is $500ish, on top of gym rental. We might need more money. I wonder who would sponsor us? lol.

I think we can manage $500, but adding that with actual rental of a space will be a bit harder to swallow. If we can can find any space that is.

Ok, so I was driving past the martial arts studio on main street and realized they may have a space. So I will give them a call. Also I was at Grace Baptist Church tonight (the little blue one by the rec center), and I think they may have a room that would work. Not the best, but better than the museum. I am hoping that they have basement, even if undeveloped. So I will try and give them call over the holidays.
