I wiped this up the other day for the site, I am not to happy with how it turned out or the colors, but it might be a start: Thoughts?

It is supposed to be a hill with a crown on top. Arderyth or Airdrie means "Kings Heights".

Looks good as a start, I kinda took it and added some detail, ( me being an artist and all) like a shadow affect I also played around with colors I thought might bring it all together. I can alway change colors around easily and if I need to I'll add any changes. Just want to help. It might look at bit cartoonish to some but I tried and I'm still getting the hang of my photoshop. It looks good but the hill could be a bit bigger.

It looks good that way but a logo should be placed on garb. The fancier it gets the harder it will be to apply it to cloth.
I'd make the shield with solid lines not cartoony. The hill and crown are fine like that though.

Solid Lines? Do you mean more of a sketch?

I mean not wobbly/cartoony. Straight lines and consistent curves on the bottom, like the original logo, (although the colour change on the triangle doesn't matter ether way.) The hill part looks good cartoony, it makes it more easily recognizable as a hill. The shield just looks a bit shoddy drawn in that style.

yea i draw alot of cartoon things, but mostly I was bored and it was what maybe 10:30ish when I did. I still need to work on getting less of a bright color of of my photoshop without getting too dark but then again the dark colors also turn up bright and cartoony. For sheild shape well I quick sketched it and scanned the pic in and then edited it so I was mainly going for just basic not so much perfect.

I like the first one the best. It looks classic medieval and portrays the purpose very simply.

I agree the first one.

I think a combination of the first and second would be better. have the crown on the upper part but use the second one's curve for the hill since it has symbolism as you stated.
First one works though, it's better than the 2nd and 3rd as shown.

I agree with Mog that a combination would work well even if the curve were slight it would bring it more home that it is a hill.
