3 Major things we need to have in place before may 2nd: -1. Recruits and potential recruits. -2. Garb. (Personal and Loaner Garb) -3. Weapons (Personal & loaner)
#1 Those of us who pray, pray hard. I have no idea where these 20 people are going to come from!
#2 I am making much loaner garb at the moment, so I think we will be ok in that department. And I think everyone else has passing garb for themselves. No?
#3 Weapons. We are going to need some more. We all have our own personal ones, but some more loaners would be good. I am thinking we need to do a weapons building day before the event. Everyone chip in $10 make a personal weapon and a loaner weapon. Thoughts? (camp pad $13, Glue $11, PVC $8, tape $10 = $32).

Tell him to grow up! He is actually rather grown up for his age but that does not change it now does it? As for loaner weapons I have a few. I have seven weapons in all: four blue swords, one axe, one javelin, and one red sword. I have another sword that I hope to finish shortly and this is a big wish but I hope to have a four foot curved shield by time of the event as well.

Ok guys, what do you think of lowering the age minimum to 15? The only reason we have it at 16 is because that is the national standard. I am not sure we have that many 15 year olds. #3 Weapons. We are going to need some more. We all have our own personal ones, but some more loaners would be good. I am thinking we need to do a weapons building day before the event. 16 is a threshold age. A lot of things seem to change at 16. It gives the impression that we want mature people. Even though 15 is only 1 year less it gives a different impression and makes this seem more like a kids's game.
I say keep it at 16, the mental impression of maturity is worth more than the few people we are excluding.

Welcome Address By Cib at 1:15?
1. Explain schedule A. Schedule B. We have to be out by 5:00, fighting will be finished by 4:45 so everything can be cleaned up. We will immediately head over to DQ and at 5:05 or so, we will do awards, (for best death, turny winner, etc.) 2. Explain Marshals A. Marshals are the refs. They wear yellow B. Do not argue with what they tell you. If they call you dead, no arguing. Die, and ask for clarification after. C. Run through calls and what to do if you hear them. 3. Explain awards. Best death, turny winner, etc.
Start events: Whoever is Heralding at any given time will be in charge of running the show. If we can cycle through on 20-30 min shifts, that would be nice.
1:30-2:40 small team battles
2:40-3:10 water break, pick up battle, and turny.
3:10-4:45 large team battles and scenario battles. (give 10 min and 5 min warnings)
Announce end: At 4:45 we need to end things
Have everyone pack up their gear and head directly over to DQ. Send one of us over striate away to hold a spot and help people find it maybe? 1 or 2 stay until last.
Announce prize winners at DQ: Basically a wrap-up and hang out. If we have any awards, give theme out here.

Not sure if we will [/i]need a Marshal, might just play it by how many people we get, how many are new, how people are taking hits... etc.
But next practice I think we will run a simple heralding/aggression exercise/drill to help get all our vets used to the idea of Marshaling.
Anyone got any specific requests for games that NEEED to be played? Also any-ideas for a few awards we can give out? eg. best death, turny winner Anyone got any ideas for a simply prize for these awards? I think I will make up some simple tokens that can be warn with garb.

I petition Darr's Labyrinth of course.
I think that we should have something specifically for the noobs so as to make sure that some of them have a chance to win a prize. Something like a noob turny or a noob two on two or just something.

We need to have a bridge battle, (if we get enough people maybe run 2 separate bridges) and a 5 on 5 or 20 on 20 or whatever field battle.
I'd like to see a dueling ring during the cooling off period.
I'd like to see royal escape and Darr's labyrinth at some point too.

I think we will only have time for one turny as turnys take time and have a lot of people doing nothing but watching. I think if their is interest during the water break we could run kill the killer or something like that of to the side for those interested. I think I would rather watch though. We need to have a bridge battle Agreed. Dar can you bring your rope? Keeping it in place might be a problem, it is a carpet floor, but still not as grippy (when it comes to rope) as grass... Any ideas? I'd like to see a dueling ring during the cooling off period. Maybe that would work rather than kill the killer along side the turny? I'd like to see royal escape and Darr's labyrinth at some point too. Yes, I want to see royal escape as well. And I am sure we can fit in Darr's labyrinth as well.

As I said above, I think we can only fit in one turny time spot... well maybe we could run 2 at the same time? I think some award that is not turny based would be better (time wise)...
