or maybe a noob and vet tourny (two on two) Hmmm... That is not a bad idea.... pair up a noob and a vet, then have a free for all? award for best wound (hopefully we wont have any though) Lol, we could have one as a back up. ;D

Agreed. Dar can you bring your rope? Keeping it in place might be a problem, it is a carpet floor, but still not as grippy (when it comes to rope) as grass... Any ideas? how about masking tape? We don't want to use duct tape since it might damage the carpet but masking tape is weak enough it shouldn't damage anything.

We could have a "tenacious" award: Most deaths in a respawn point game, (like elite, rotating teams, ctf, etc. Not like kill the killer as it's not in the dead person's control.)
Hopefully the vets can defend themselves so they wouldn't qualify and it promotes getting into the thick of fighting rather than running away like most noobs do.

You can count on me to bring my rope. I might even get some more although I don't now quite why.
I think that two on two contests with a noob paired with a veteran sounds like an awesome Idea. An award would be given to the best pair.

how would be exacly seperate the "noobs" from the Vets" i know the vets are like me darr cib mog zyke, but for people like matt hes been a few times and has a bit of experince, or if you have a friend that you duel with a fair bit because theres the people who play alot and the people who have just started, then theres the people in between (and wow it just started snowing alot )

For the "noob and vet" teams it doesn't have to be extremes, just balanced between teams. The in between people get paired with other in between people. The Vets get paired with the extreme noobs. The idea is the average skill level of all teams should be about the same.

I like the tenacious award. Any ideas on how to keep track of how many times someone dies?

Another problem would arise in choosing pairs if there is an odd number of people. I guess one of us veterans would have to sit out or be Marshal.
If it is a game with respawn then there will be a respawn place. It could be that instead of just calling out a time that you would have a pen with pieces of paper. Each participant would have his own piece of paper and whenever he comes to be resurrected he makes a mark on the piece of paper. This would give an accurate account of how many deaths a certain person had. I now that this might not be the best idea but it is the only on I can think of at the moment.

I think I am going to be timing things tomorrow to see how long we actually take. I am currently sitting at an estimate of time for 6 different games, 3 before water brake, 3 after. pulse the turny and want-ever pickup game might happen at that point.
Here is what I am trying to work with:
1. I am not sure how to order things, I am worried about the complicated scenario games taking a long time to set up and the fact that they limit weapons (kinda anti climatic).
2. The main thing is I want some kind of re-spawn game to start off to get people warmed up and exited. And then to end with a big but simple game that can almost run its self until we have to stop and everyone can where themselves out with.
3. It is also good to try as much a posable to start with individualized and multi team games (more than 2 teams) and work up to a climax of big team games.
And ideas where your preferred game/games would best fit in such a schedule?

How about you and I get to the church about a half and hour to 45 minutes before the event. then we would have time to set up and tape all my rope for the various games the we are going to do beforehand.
I think that Darr's Labyrinth should just before our water brake being as it's the most complicated individualized game we have.

I don't know if someone is renting the gym before we are, or if it will be unlocked that early. But we could set it up during registration I suppose.
In that case, maybe it should be first. It might be a good warm up game, it gets you moving...

Perhaps. I just thought it would be nice to set everything up beforehand then it would be easy to jump to the game whenever.

Schedule of Days Events: ⁃ 12:50-1:15 Check in and Troll (weapons check) ⁃ 1:10 Noob intro to rules ⁃ 1:20 small team battles ⁃ 2:40 water break, pick up battle, and dulling tournament ⁃ 3:10 large team battles and scenario battles ⁃ 4:45-5:00 clean up, and head over to DQ ⁃ 5:00 Hang out at DQ and awards
Ya, if everyone can arrive at least 10 min before we get in we can check out stuff in first, then will have 15min (maybe a few more) to set things up wile we are also running singe in and Troll. Does that sound reasonable, or is it enough time?

Well, we could use more time but if that's all that can be managed then I'm sure we'll be able to make do.
